Washoku(Japanese Cuisine)

Iizaka Onsen offers many kinds of delicious food. You will come across many Japanese-style restaurants when you walk down the street, serving Japanese cuisine such as soba (buckwheat noodles), sushi and special Iizaka delicacies, Iizaka Ramen and Round Dumplings, as well as Izakayas (Japanese style bars) where you can enjoy evening meals. Izakaya

At an Izakaya, you can enjoy beer and Japanese sake (rice wine) with Japanese cuisine, such as tempura and sashimi (sliced, fresh raw fish), as well as light food.

Round Dumplings

Dumplings are made with a filling (mixed mince meat, cabbage and herbs), and wrapped in dough (made from kneaded flour and water). They are steam-cooked in a frying pan, so that the skin is crisp, the dough is springy and the filling is juicy!

Japanese Sake (rice wine) in Iizaka

Sake is made from rice, water and koji (malted rice) using an original brewing process, and has an alcohol content of around 15 percent. Sake will make a good souvenir if you find your favorite sake brand in an Izakaya.
